This workshop is generously funded by the University of Sheffield Concerts (UOSC), a Sheffield home for musical discovery, learning, and participation. With scores of international and award-winning performers, a kaleidoscope of choirs, collectives, composers, conductors, and ensembles of all shapes and sizes, UOSC is committed to providing opportunities for music lovers of all tastes and ages.
As part of its widening access and outreach programme, and in conjunction with its Sound Laboratory: Contemporary Season, UOSC is working with its Associate Artists the Ligeti Quartet to deliver composition workshops to Music A Level students. Our ambition is to deliver these nationally, and provide young musicians an opportunity to work with professional musicians of the highest calibre, develop skills and competencies in the areas of composition and new and contemporary classical performance, and provide a glimpse on what a University musical education can offer young musicians of the future.
