Join the UK-based Ligeti Quartet for their first concert in Canada! In a programme based on mimicry, imitation and play, hear works by Canadian composers Nicole Lizée, Tanya Tagaq, and Cassandra Miller, alongside Beethoven's Grosse Fuge, the fearful megalith of string quartet repertoire which Stravinsky described as "forever contemporary". The quartet imitate the sounds of Canadian nature, use whistling and gravity tubes, their voices, stomps, and of course keep stretching the limits of their instruments...
